Your Hands

your hands

you have such beautiful hands,
soft and dewy, leaving syrup trails
on my skin. i could make jam
with your hands, so succulent
and sweet, like the insides of fruit.
i watch them as you talk.
i don't hear what you're saying, but
as each exquisite phrase drops
from your palms, i breathlessly
whisper your fortune.
