Jalina Mhyana is a massage therapist / homeschooling mom who has lived with her husband and two wonderful daughters in rural northern Japan for the past six years. Jalina's chapbook Spikeseed (Bad Moon Books) is due out January 2004. Her poetry has appeared or will appear in Room of One's Own, Moxie Magazine, Japanophile Press, Branches Quarterly, Eclectica, Slow Trains, Salt River Review, Spitjaw Review, and Erosha. Jalina's poem August 6, 1945 was chosen to represent The International Shadow Project, a Canadian effort designed to commemorate the 1945 atomic bombings of Japan and foster peace between nations.
